Tuesday was crazy...

I drove up to Kentucky on Sunday afternoon to help my family prepare and move my grandmother to a nursing home. It was quite a sad experience. She is going to turn 80 in November and she is leaving the home she has been living in for about 30 years.

After helping out the best way I could, I had to rush back home for a 2:30 appointment yesterday... crazy Tuesday. Only I didn't make the appointment, because my car broke down in Tennessee. The car was running perfectly and had never given us trouble, but after I made it through the south end of Nashville, my check engine light went on. I noticed the temperature gage on hot, but I needed to make it to the next exit. I finally made to the Columbia, TN exit and the car died as soon as I came to the stop sign. Great........

After the tow truck picked me up and took me to the dealership, I needed to get cash to pay the driver. So, he takes me across the street to the ATM. However, the ATM would not give me money! The bank inside would not help me b/c I did not bank with them. Thanks a bunch. Thankfully, I was able to get cash at the next bank we went to. Note to self...always carry cash for emergenices.

So, after waiting a couple of hours and treating myself to a nice lunch, they tell me that my engine is basically "melted." Had I immediately stopped on the side of the road when the light came on, the car probably would have been a lot cheaper to fix. I'm a girl...how would I know? But the engine has to be replaced (or not), so I rented a car and luckily made it home 11 hours after my 5 hr 15 min journey began.

Now is the fun part....deciding what to do next. To share the truck until we find out whether we are moving to Europe next?...that is the question.
