Ten on Tuesday

1) So, we are definitely moving back to D.C. and I'm addicted to looking for homes everyday. I guess that's why I have my real estate license, although I haven't been able to use it in Alabama and I don't know when I will have enough time to start selling again. But anyway! I love planning and looking for our next home. This time we are going to attempt to learn from the mistakes we made when we moved there last time. Due to our busy lives when we are both working, we are leaning towards condos in the Arlington and Alexandria areas so that we don't have to shovel snow, maintain a yard, or travel a long way to work. Here's hoping! I'm flying out on March 8 -13 to hopefully secure a place for us. Tom doesn't get enough time off while he is in school, so I get to go and stay with my good friend Elizabeth and find our next place.

2)Did I mention that I love looking at homes on the internet? Well, as some of you know, I still miss Southern California and can't wait to move back there one day, so I frequently do dream searches and see what would be available to rent if we were there moving now. Well, today I found a perfect place that we would be able to afford b/c the housing allowance there is close to the rental price and my salary would make it even more possible. I would love nothing more than to live on the beach and I found the cutest place on The Strand in Hermosa Beach. That is unheard of, unless you want to buy it for a few MILLION dollars. We had to stop looking at it, b/c all we could think of was walking out of our patio and playing beach volleyball and surfing before work. Okay, I have to stop...it's making me sick. :) If we could only be that lucky in a few years!

3)Facebook - love it! It makes it so much easier to keep in touch with people and on your own time. We aren't very good about calling people and chatting. I find that the longer you have gone without speaking to people, the longer it takes on the phone, so sometimes it just doesn't happen. I love it b/c you can see pictures of people and their families and say hello without it taking 2 hours. If you don't have a Facebook account, just try it....you'll be suprised how many people you find that you know.

4)Since I have so much time on my hands while we are in Alabama, I found a ladies' Bible study that I could join on Wednesday mornings. It has been great so far! We are reading "The Power of a Praying Wife."

5)Amy is officially attending college at Troy University and is loving it. We are so excited for her and hope that she will continue to do a good job and keep moving in the right direction.

6)LOST - I am so excited that it is back on. Such an appropriate name for the show! We love it, but not only are all of the characters lost, we are too. I'm just glad that they are finally giving us more clues.

7) Saturday before last, my parents had tickets to the Alabama vs Kentucky basketball game in Tuscaloosa, but my dad couldn't go. So, Rebecca and a couple of friends picked me up and we girls went to the game. It was a great time and we even managed to get the Kentucky players to sign Dad's Kentukcy basketball.Add Video

8) My best friend Kay called me this week and told me she won tickets to see Little Big Town and Ashton Shepherd in concert. Not only did she win tickets...she won four tickets and meet and greet passes and invited us to go. I only know a few of their songs, but we had an awesome time. The meet and greet was very nice and I had them sign my guitar. The picture of us with them was enlightening. I knew I had gained a few pounds since we moved, but the picture helped me get back to working out like I should be.

9) This Thursday I am picking our grandson Dylan and keeping him for the weekend. I am SO excited! We've only seen him for an hour since Thanksgiving, so we figured we would have fun with him while we can, before we move further away. And this Sunday is Ethan's 18th birthday! I can't believe he is going to be 18. Wow...

10) I saved the best for last. Some of you remember hearing about our wonderful friends, Kelly and Heather Laing. They are here for the same school we are and they have become our close friends. Their oldest son of four children, Quincy -12 years old, needed a kidney transplant and his mother, Heather, was the donor. They had the surgery a week ago last Thursday and everything went so well. They were released from the hospital a week after the surgery and are continuing to recover at home. We are so happy that things went so smoothly! God is good!
