Well, the Air Force decided that they wanted Tom to attend Air Command & Staff College at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL for 10 months. Since neither of us are fond of Montgomery, we decided to rent in Prattville. It has been wonderful so far! And everyone here is so nice, just as we remembered the South to be. Definitely a change from the D.C. area. It will take some time to get used to all of the bugs and humidity, but by that time it will be time to move on to the next destination, whereever that may be.
So far, we have been able to spend a good bit of time with friends and family, as well as make new friends. There are hundreds of other families in the same situation we are, so it makes for great bonding. We have also become friends with some of the international students and their families as well. The military has allowed students from 69 other countries to attend this school with our military. So, it's going to be an exciting year learning about many other cultures.
This is our year to throttle back, so to speak, even though Tom will be working a lot on school stuff. We are looking forward to a lot of family and friend time and of course SEC football!
