While we were there we ate dinner at the Laughrey's house, which is absolutely beautiful and less than a block from the beach. It was a nice reminder of why we are saving every penny for when we return to California. We were also able to go back to our old church and see all of our friends there. It was as if we never left. What a great feeling! We took Ethan on tours of a couple of film schools (his future major) and I think it was an eye opener for us all. Can we say student loans? Ethan was able to hang out with all of his old friends at Torrance High School, which made his trip. For my 30th birthday, Tom and I went to Malibu and ate at Nobu. It was fabulous!
They made the cutest birthday dessert. Not really sure why we felt the need to take a picture of it, but we did. It was the best birthday yet.
I've heard a lot of people say that when you move away from somewhere and then go back that it's just never the same. That was not the case for us. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to get back to California.
